🌙
STEP 02

Record your first dream

Write down your dream while it's fresh. The more detail you capture, the richer your experience will be over time.

Click "New Dream" from the dashboard

Give it a title — even something simple like "The blue house" works

Write freely in the description — no format required

Choose your waking mood and rate your sleep quality

Add symbols or tags like: water, flying, forest, stranger

Toggle "Lucid dream" if you were aware you were dreaming

Hit Save — your entry is stored privately

STEP 03

Interpret your dream

Open any dream entry and tap "Interpret Dream" to receive a reflective breakdown crafted from the content of your dream.

Open a saved dream entry

Scroll to the Interpretation section at the bottom

Click "Interpret dream"

Your interpretation appears in four sections:

→ Emotional themes — the feelings underlying the dream

→ Possible symbolism — what key images may represent

→ Recurring patterns — connections across your dream life

→ Reflection questions — gentle prompts for journaling

Interpretations are for personal reflection only — not medical or psychological advice.

🔮
STEP 04

Explore the symbol dictionary

Browse 50+ original dream symbols with deep interpretations. Search by name or filter by category to find what appeared in your dream.

Click "Symbols" in the navigation

Use the search bar to look up a specific image — e.g. "ocean" or "fire"

Filter by category: Nature, Animals, Places, Objects, and more

Each symbol has a short meaning and a deeper interpretation

Related symbols are linked so you can explore connected themes

You can reach symbol pages directly from tags on your dream entries

Common questions

QIs my journal private?

Yes, completely. Your dream entries are protected by row-level security in the database — meaning only your authenticated account can ever read, edit, or delete them. No one else has access, including us.

QAre the interpretations AI-generated?

Interpretations are generated by a thoughtful analysis engine built into DreamNest. They are designed to spark reflection, not provide answers. Think of them as a mirror, not a diagnosis.

QWhat are symbols and tags?

When you record a dream, you can add tags for the key images or themes that stood out — like "water", "running", "old house", or "stranger". These become searchable, link to the symbol dictionary, and build your personal pattern data over time.

QWhat is a lucid dream?

A lucid dream is one where you become aware that you are dreaming while still inside the dream. You can mark any entry as lucid so you can track these experiences separately.

QDo I have to interpret every dream?

Not at all. Many people find value in simply logging dreams regularly, even without interpretation. The act of writing them down is meaningful on its own.

QCan I edit or delete my entries?

Yes. Every dream entry has an Edit and Delete option. Deletion asks for confirmation before removing anything permanently.

QIs this a medical or therapeutic tool?

No. DreamNest is a personal reflection and journaling tool. If you are experiencing distressing dreams, sleep problems, or mental health concerns, please speak with a qualified healthcare professional.
